OAFCON (Oklahoma Alliance of Fans) have  been hosting comic book and collectible shows since 1970 in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.  Our shows are not like the larger media-themed comic-con events. OAFcon is designed to be smaller with a greater focus on comics for sale and comics history.

PLEASE consider bringing something for the SHOW & TELL segment at 11 am. Bring something from your collection you are proud of owning and come up to the podium and speak a bit about it and show it off… This is always fun as we get to see some very cool and rare items !!  

AND OUR MONSTER MASK contest at 5pm.. no costume needed, just a mask..,  prizes for the BEST MASKS as determined by our judges!  

The OKC Comic Book Club, organized by Mike Redmon, will be holding  a meeting and discussion starting at  7pm.

ELLIS GOODSON returns to OAFCON!  Oklahoma City raised comic artist has been in the industry for many years.. Has worked on Video Games; JURASSIC PARK, WALL-E , drawn all kinds of comics and created many interesting characters! His latest comics RETRO ELLIS and IDLE HANDS will be for sale at OAFCON ! 

GUEST:   JACK & CAROLE BENDER

 OAFCON welcome the return of the dynamic husband/wife team  writes and draws the Alley Oop comics strip that appears world wide.  Come visit and take a look at the great artwork that Jack will bring along! 

GUEST: JOHN WOOLEY  author/historian

John Wooley has been a fixture in Oklahoma fandom forever.. well since the 1960's.. ( the top pic of him is from 1975 OKC Wintercon) and he's been writing, acting. producing, collecting, filming, educating and probably some fishing all that time..  He's responsible for keeping pulp favorite  DAN TURNER, HOLLYWOOD DETECTIVE popular, wrote SHOT IN OKLAHOMA a book of film locations and stories, currently writing the introductions to the  BOB POWELL Library, and the FORGOTTEN HORRORS book series as well as  hosting a weekly radio show devoted to old country/swing music.  He's one busy guy.. but come by and say hello!

GUEST: BUDDY SAUNDERS Tarzan/John Carter author

OAFCON welcomes BUDDY SAUNDERS, author of the largest and greatest ERB-inspired book: THE MARTIAN LEGION..The beautifully bound book is awash in all original interior art, with some spectacular two-page full color interior works of the very highest quality by Craig Mullins plus other full-page color art by Mike Hoffman and Tom Grindberg. Some of the artwork is influenced by fine ERB artists like Jeffrey Jones, Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo,  There are also monochrome interior drawings by Hoffman and Grindberg. The page design is of the highest artistic quality. The printing and the paper are what you’d expect in an expensive art-book. The text is 377 pages of story, and another 50 pages of appendices.  Meet and discuss with Buddy his book at the panel on Saturday Afternoon!

ROGER HILL returns to OAFCON with a presentation on Saturday discussing  PRECODE HORROR COMICS  ..

No one knows EC Comics, and old horror comics like Roger! Come see some spectacular artwork from the 1950's and listen to some fascinating stories !

OAFCON GUEST:  COUNT GREGORE

COUNT GREGORE..  A fixture of OKC late-night television since he first appeared on SHOCK THEATRE in 1958. Here is Count (John Ferguson) at last years OAFCON with fan TROY PIERCE who purchased this original Frankenstein card from John at the con!  Come see the Count... get a picture and buy one of his DVDS or books!  

OAFCON GUEST: SCOTT MCCLUNG

Scott McClung has written and drawn six ( maybe #7 at the show!) of his comic book  DISPLACEMENTS: OASIS. Scott will have the latest issues available and will be doing sketches and commissions!  Look at those great sketches for $4.00!  wow!

OAFCON GUEST:  MIKE KENNEDY

 MIKE KENNEDY returns to OAFCON. After moving out west  a few years ago. he decided it was time to see his old pals again. Good to have him back. Mike is the artist of CELTIC KNIGHTS and many other comics as shown on his table. Mike will also bringing a RARE book collection for sale!~
